PRIME EventTouch, Turn, Create: Exploring Life and Peace with Painter Wakana Yamauchi

In front of the Yokohama Branch Office of PRIME (International Peace Research Institute, Meiji Gakuin University), paintings depicting the devastation caused by nuclear weapons are on display, including reproductions of The Hiroshima Panels and works by painter Wakana Yamauchi.

At this event, participants will have the opportunity to hear from Yamauchi, whose artistic work explores the theme of life, while viewing an enormous nine-meter-long painting up close. By looking closely at the details of the artwork, and even touching or turning parts of it, participants are invited to experience the world within the painting through all their senses.

In the second half of the event, participants will take part in a workshop, combining their individual drawings into one large collaborative artwork.

Why not join us in reflecting on life and peace through art?
